About the Role

The Holbrook and Shotley Practice in Ipswich, is seeking an organised and professional receptionist to join our friendly team on a part-time basis. This role is to cover 32 hours per week but we can consider two receptionists so please apply and we can discuss days and hours with you. Please add hours required on your CV or on the application form when applying. 
 

The main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Greeting and directing all patients.
  • Making appointments.
  • Answering queries and complaints from patients and outside agencies, signposting to the appropriate staff member as appropriate.
  • Accepting, issuing and handing out prescriptions, letters, completed forms, specimen bottles, etc.
  • Advising patients of practice procedures.
  • Registering new patients.
  • Accurately maintaining patient database and records, photocopying, filing and scanning.

About the Candidate

The successful applicant will have the following:
 
  • Excellent communication skills, with a patient-focussed attitude
  • A quick learner with good IT skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Helpful and friendly manner is essential, with the ability to work well with others
  • Primary care/healthcare experience would be desirable
  • Flexible to cover for sickness and holidays

About Us

The Holbrook and Shotley Practice is a GP Practice across two surgery sites.  We pride ourselves on providing a high standard of care to our 8000 patients. Our practice team comprises of three GP partners, two salaried GPs, supported by a highly experienced team of nurses, dispensers, paramedics, and reception team.
