About the Role

Haverhill Primary Care Network (PCN) is looking to appoint an experienced manager to lead our organisation on a part-time basis, for 24 hours per week, over 3 days, to include Wednesday & Thursday.  You will need to be able to travel between both practices in the PCN and to other venues for meetings etc. 

You will play a pivotal role in the delivery of primary care within the PCN and deliver effective projects and services, to ensure the PCN is operating efficiently, and revenue streams are optimised.  

Job Summary:

  • Be the first point of contact for practice managers regarding delivery of PCN projects/schemes.
  • Analyse service specification, performance indicators & data collection requirements to inform design for new services.
  • Support service delivery by being the conduit between the service provider and the PCN and its member practices, thereby ensuring integration of the new service staff into existing teams & working processes.
  • Develop metrics and other arrangements to support the subcontracting of services and subsequent contract management.
  • Be responsible for the management of operational processes & for the development of Standard Operating Procedures for PCN services.
  • Manage financial requirements.
  • Co-ordinate training and development
  • Support the Practice Managers with recruitment, induction, and training of new PCN staff.
  • Collate feedback / analysis data on behalf of the PCN to report to the ICB and other organisations as required.
  • Manage the workflow processes in relation to the above
  • Help develop joint working and relationships across networks and its stakeholders.
  • Maintain relationships across all core member practices.
  • Build external relationships and identify opportunities to work with wider system partners.
  • Drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop/maintain all databases & policies.

All applicants should have the following skills and qualifications: 
  • Ideally with a relevant qualification in business management, or equivalent qualification or experience.
  • Experience of working at a similar level in specialist area.
  • Significant experience of successfully operating in a politically sensitive environment.
  • Experience of managing a team without direct line management
  • Demonstrated experience of co-ordinating projects in complex and challenging environments.
  • Experience of managing risks and reporting.
  • Ability to prepare, produce and present concise yet insightful communications for dissemination to senior stakeholders and a broad range of stakeholders as required.
  • Experience of creating and giving presentations to a varied group of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Numerate and able to understand complex financial issues combined with deep analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of financial systems e.g. monitoring budget management, processing invoices and procurement.
  • Able to work flexibly – both in terms of mobility and hours.

Haverhill PCN, in West Suffolk, is made up of 2 GP practices located in Haverhill, established in 2019, both practices have similar list sizes of over 18,000 patients.
