About the Role

The Elms Surgery is looking to recruit a flexible, motivated and committed GP to join our friendly practice for 4-6 sessions per week. 

Main duties include:

  • Undertaking a variety of practice duties, including face to face consultations, telephone consultations and home/care home visiting (rare).
  • Actioning bloods, tasks, checking and signing EPS repeat prescriptions and PA scripts, dealing with queries to be part of the day to day schedule.
  • Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.
  • Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
  • Developing care plans for patients with long term conditions.
  • Providing counselling and health education.
  • Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate.
  • Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary and working to ICB guidelines.
  • Supporting/supervising physician associates when required ensure smooth running of the practice.
  • Managing and supporting ongoing palliative care and elderly care case loads.
We are able to offer Tier 2 Visa Sponsorship.
About the Candidate
Essential:
  • Recently qualified or experienced GP.
  • Annual appraisal and revalidation (when appropriate).
  • On the NHSE medical performers list.
Desirable:
  • Specialist interest in either elderly or palliative care, long term condition management, teaching. 
About Us
The Elms Surgery is a medium sized practice located in Nascot village and Cassiobury area of central Watford.  As well as the excellent road and rail commuter links there are many outstanding schools nearby, both primary and secondary, including Watford Boys and Girls Grammar.
 
The practice looks after almost 9,000 patients and is part of the Central Watford PCN and uses EMIS clinical system.
