About the Role
North Watford Primary Care Network has an exciting opportunity for a PCN paramedic to join their well-established team, on a full-time, permanent basis. 
 
Working at the equivalent to a Band 7, the role offers ongoing educational and professional support.
 
The main responsibilities of the role include:
  • Provide assessment, diagnosis and treatment at first point of contact by attending to patients. 
  • Accurately triage and prioritise patients, including in emergency situations.
  • Evaluate clinical information from examination and history taking, and initiate appropriate treatment and/or referral.
  • Undertake and interpret diagnostics taking the appropriate action to manage patient care.
  • Signpost appropriately to other services in the identified healthcare pathway.
  • Refer patients to appropriate care settings, within locally agreed healthcare pathways.
  • Discharge or treat, as appropriate and within the scope of practice.
  • Maintain accurate and systematic documentation of patient interactions and clinical care provided, including adverse events.  
  • Advise and support members of the public on healthy lifestyles, health promotion and disease prevention.
  • Provide clinical advice to other members of the team where appropriate.

About the Candidate
If you are an experienced paramedic wanting a new challenge, we would love to hear from you.  You will have the following qualifications, skills and experience: 
 
Qualifications: 
  • Current registered nurse (NMC) or registered paramedic (HCPC).
  • Evidence of continued professional development. 
  • Attended X-ray/IRMER course. 
  • Teaching and assessment qualification. 
  • ALS/APLS provider. 
  • Completed RCN clinical leadership programme or similar. 
Key skills & experience: 
  • Experience as a practitioner in an A&E Department or similar emergency care centre.
  • Experience as an autonomous practitioner within a minor injury/illness centre or mobile service. 
  • Dispensing skills as per protocols and patient group directives.
  • Ability to manage multiple workloads.
  • Good communication skills. 
  • Able to work autonomously. 
  • Record keeping skills.
  • Able to promote a learning environment.
