Practice Nurse

Houghton Close Surgery has an opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated practice nurse to join the team on a part-time basis of approximately 16 hours a week.

 Main duties of the job:

General practice is a challenging environment that requires a calm and caring approach. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated team player who can work under pressure and prioritise their own workload. Experience of working in primary care is desirable but not essential.

• Registered nurse (adult) with current NMC registration
• Evidence of ongoing continuing professional development (CPD)

• Qualification in cervical cytology
• Immunisation and vaccination training (including childhood and travel health)
• Phlebotomy training and competency
• Experience of working in a general practice or primary care setting
• Experience of undertaking treatment room duties
• Experience in wound care management
• Experience administering immunisations and injections
• Experience of performing ECGs
• Experience undertaking cervical cytology
• Experience of working within NHS primary care services
• Experience with chronic disease management: CHD/diabetes/respiratory
