About the Role

The Humbleyard Practice is looking for a patient care advisor to join our team on a fixed-term maternity cover contract from December 2026 to January 2028. This role is offered on a part-time basis of 19 hours per week, working Tuesdays and Fridays, 08:00–18:30, with a one-hour unpaid lunch break on each day.

Our patient care team is made up of 16 friendly and dedicated patient care advisors working across Cringleford, Hethersett and Mulbarton Surgeries. As a patient care advisor, you’ll be at the heart of the practice, helping our patients navigate their healthcare journey with confidence and ease.

You’ll be a first point of contact for our patients, both in person and over the phone. You’ll support patients with their enquiries, book appointments, and use care navigation and signposting to help them access the right clinician or service at the right time.

No two days are quite the same. You’ll handle a wide variety of patient enquiries, maintain accurate records and work closely with our clinical and administrative teams to keep our services running smoothly.

If you’re looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference, while joining a supportive, friendly and busy team, we’d love to hear from you.

This is a fixed-term maternity cover position from December 2026 to January 2028.

About the Candidate

We’re looking for a friendly, organised, and compassionate person to join our patient care team! If you love helping people, can stay calm under pressure, and have a knack for juggling multiple tasks at once, this could be the perfect role for you.

You’ll need great communication skills, a team-player attitude, and the ability to make patients feel welcome and supported. Confidence with IT systems (like Microsoft Office 365 and SystmOne) is a plus, but don’t worry—we’ll provide full training to get you up to speed!

Whether you’ve worked in customer service, healthcare, reception, or just have a passion for helping others, we’d love to hear from you. If you’re ready to be part of a fun, supportive, and dedicated team that makes a real difference every day, apply now!

The essential following are essential requirements for applicants to this role:
  • education to GCSE level, NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent),
  • competency in IT skills: familiarity with clinical database systems such as SystmOne, experience using Microsoft Office 365, comfortable working with database systems
  • accurate filing skills
  • experience in customer-facing roles, such as a reception or call centre environment is preferred
